An Online Holiday Greeting from David & Joyce Grigg
(and The Furry Griggs)

Highlights of Our Year

Playing Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Our technology consulting business celebrated its eighth year in November. We love this time of year when we get to make holiday visits to our customers.  Over the course of two days, we make the rounds to all our client sites, playing "Mr. & Mrs. Clause." It's great fun!

Trips

In March, we had a wonderful little getaway to Fountain City, WI, a quaint little village located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River.  We stayed in a treehouse-like cottage positioned on a high bluff with astounding views of the river.  We visited local artists, area wildlife refuges, and did some strategic planning for DGC.

We did a little traveling to visit with family also this year. We spent Memorial Day weekend in Bay City, MI visiting with THE JIMS (we both have brothers named Jim who live in Bay City).  To avoid confusion, we often use last names when referencing each one, just so it's clear who we're talking about. In November, we traveled to St. Louis, MO to visit Dave's brother and family. No arch visits to report since Joyce is a bit afraid of heights!

Relaxing at Home

We put in a fire ring last year and have really been enjoying it.  Our first fire was in April and our latest (won't be the last for the season if Dave has his way) was in November.  Sitting by a campfire is one of our favorite things in the whole world.  We've also enjoyed lots of wildlife watching in our backyard which backs up to a wooded conservancy.  We can even look forward to the snow coming since it provides a great opportunity to identify tracks.

Around the Town and Elsewhere

Balancing our time "in" and "out" in the world is always a big challenge for us since we work from home. It's been a great pleasure to attend a variety of events at Madison's new Overture Center. The acoustics are fabulous (4th in the world)! From Yo-Yo Ma to Itzak Perlman to funny shows like Bob Newhart and Arlo Gutherie...what a great experience!

Dave has been spending more time this year engaging in a long-time hobby: photography. Joyce bought him a new Nikon DSLR camera, and they've been going places together to shoot interesting subjects.  Chester often accompanies them and acts as the subject.

New Church Development

Dave continues to be involved in our Presbytery's New Church Development Commission to plant a new congregation in the Sun Prairie area.  The group's main focus at this moment is calling a pastor.  For more details, check out their Web site at: www.sunprairiepresbyterian.org.

New Furry Grigg

The Furry Griggs welcomed a new family member in September.  We adopted another cat. His name is Lincoln and he gets along very well with Chester, our dog and cats, Mocha and Muffin.  Lincoln's training is coming along quite nicely. We've already learned to leave the pleated shade in our bedroom up several inches for him at night. After sleep deprivation set in, it seemed a reasonable compromise.

Happy Holidays! We'd love to hear from you.  Email us at: thegriggs@dgcllc.com.  Like to see previous years' sites?  Go here.  Copyright © 2006 by David and Joyce Grigg. All rights reserved.
